We offer you the top surf instruction on Maui, specializing in small groups for ultimate hands on attention! The locals here find surfing a healthy, exhilarating experience and sometimes therapeutic. We hope that you find learning to surf a rewarding adventure! Surfing is affordable and easy to learn for all ages. Maui is known for its constant surf. The size of the wave is dependant on weather and follows the seasons. Different areas on Maui will have different wave conditions due to the facing shores. Lahaina area is highly recommended for beginner to intermediate surfing. Kihei area tends to have smaller waves, if much of any, in the summer months. You start on a soft long board to learn the fundamentals, safety, and ocean-awareness. Most group lessons are designed for the beginner. For intermediate and advanced lessons, reserve a semi-private or private lesson and specify your surfing abilities. Surfboard rentals are available to rent, as well, so you can practice all you have learned!
Maui is one of the world's top windsurfing destinations. Ho'okipa Beach Park in Pa'ai is the most viewed surfing and windsurfing areas in the world and is recommended for the highly experienced, world-class surfers and windsurfers. Kahana Beach Park is recommended for intermediate and advanced windsurfers. "Jaws" is one of the biggest and most "ride-able" waves in the world. The winter waves range from 20 – 70 foot faces and are attempted only by world-class surfers. This is a great photo opportunity to take advantage of. Make time on your way to Hana to spend some time here. |

They staff experienced surfers that will guide you through the 1-2-3's of surfing. Their instructors have been surfing Maui for years and enjoy sharing the sport through teaching you. You will find them friendly, patient and lots of fun. With South Pacific Kayak & Outfitters, you'll have a relaxed and very enjoyable surf lesson on Maui. We take care of the equipment — you bring your spirit, energy, swimwear and sunscreen. All lessons take less than 2 hours and you'll spend some time on the beach doing a dry run before getting wet. Remember to bring your camera as it's likely you'll want some proof of your surfing day!

Want to capture the moment of the 2 of you surfing a wave? Just ask your instructor, hand him the camera, he'll be happy to accommodate! South Pacific Kayak & Outfitters hold their surf lessons at different locations on Maui. You can chose the South Side at Kalama Park or the West Side at Ukumehame Beach. Maui surf lessons are offered Monday - Saturday at three convenient times for your Semi-Private Lesson: 8am, 10am and 12:00pm. South Pacific Kayak & Outfitters offers you the rash guard shirt, booties, and the surfboard for your Maui surf lesson.
We will provide you specific directions for your surf lessons when you pick up your tickets at our office. Surfers must feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim. Children must be accompanied by an adult (you can surf or "hang" at the beach). Maui surf lessons are not available on Sundays. |

Spend the day on Maui learning to surf and expand your knowledge of the ocean. The surf camp is open to everyone and is geared primarily towards beginner level surfers. Students will begin their day with stretching and an extended introductory surfing lesson. Your guides will share with you a millennium of Maui surfing history and evolution. The afternoon surf lesson will introduce to you the intermediate surfing skills and focus on taking you to the next level. Goofy Foot surf school provids professional supervision both in and out of the water. Goofy Foot surf camp begins at 9am and ends approximately 3pm. You will receive a 1 hour break for lunch, which is provided by Goofy Foot from one of the local restuarants at 505 Front Street. Excellent equipment is provided by Goofy Foot surf school. The surf camp on Maui is perfect for the young at heart!
You will check in at the Goofy Foot surf school office at 505 Front Street, Suite 123, Lahaina. Souvenir photos are available upon request. Children must be accompanied by an adult, either as a surfer or "hang out" at the beach with the surf camp. Surfers must feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim. Goofy Foot surf school is closed Sundays. Must be at least 9 to surf. Additional discounts are given for additional surf campers.
